Danny Drinkwater, a former midfield player for Chelsea, has recently revealed that there were moments when he wasn't even allowed to train.
He said on Jake Humphrey's High Performance Podcast that while he was at Stamford Bridge, he was required to undertake fitness training by himself, something he had never done before.
Drinkwater announced his retirement from the NFL today. He had not been able to find a team to start the season with.
Not everything at Stamford Bridge went as planned for him. After they won the league, he came with the intention of reuniting with N'golo Kante in a potent duo.
But this didn't work out, and he didn't even interact with the team for a long while.
He now says that as a result, his training sessions were altered to the point where he had to work alone to improve his fitness.

"I wouldn't play a single minute the season after, and I would get sucked into London City life, partying way more than I wanted to, and my focus wasn't on football," he stated.
